SA: Police uncover $5 mln drug crop on SA/Vic border

ADELAIDE, Feb 8 AAP - South Australian police have uncovered a massive marijuana crop
worth $5 million near the Victorian border - the largest crop found in the state in the
past decade.

In the fourth major drug bust in three weeks, about 5,000 plants covering about one
hectare were found in mallee scrub near Paruna, between Loxton and Pinnaroo.

An elaborate irrigation system drawing water from a bore was used to water the crop,
which Detective Superintendent Rob Maggs said would have a wholesale value of about $5
million.
