PANAMA REFUSES MARCOSU.S. FAILS TO GET OK ON ASYLUM.(Main)

Panama President Eric Arturo Delvalle Thursday night rejecteda petition for asylum by deposed Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, presidential news secretary Guiellermo Abames said,dashing a U.S. deal to send Marcos there.

The last-minute decision came after Reagan administration officials had said Marcos was expected to fly to Panama for political refuge late Thursday.

Though unsuccessful, the bid for refuge indicated conditions the United States will impose on any Marcos move, including leaving behind at least some of his considerable wealth.

Earlier, State Department officials said Marcos has negotiated arrangements to move to Panama for an indefinite period and is likely to leave the United States early today.
